Solos AirGo 3 Video Capabilities: Do These Smart Glasses Have a Camera?

The Solos AirGo 3 does not record video or take photos. These smart glasses are strictly audio-only wearables designed for music, calls, and ChatGPT voice interaction. They do not have a built-in camera lens. If you are looking for Solos glasses with video capabilities, you need the Solos AirGo V2, which launched in January 2026 with a 16MP camera and live streaming features.

Why the Solos AirGo 3 Has No Camera

The AirGo 3 design prioritizes lightweight comfort and privacy over visual capture. By omitting the camera, Solos kept the frame weight under 30 grams, making them indistinguishable from regular prescription glasses. This design choice avoids the "spy glass" stigma often associated with camera-equipped wearables.

Instead of video, the AirGo 3 focuses on:

• Audio Quality: Open-ear directional speakers (up to 100 decibels).
• Live Translation: SolosTranslate for real-time language interpretation.
• AI Integration: Voice access to ChatGPT without needing to pull out your phone.

The 2026 Upgrade: Solos AirGo V2 (The Video Model)

If you searched for "Solos AirGo 3 video" hoping to record your point of view, the model you actually want is the Solos AirGo V2. Unveiled at CES 2026, this model specifically addresses the demand for visual AI and recording.

Based on current specs released in January 2026, the AirGo V2 features:

• 16MP Camera: Capable of high-resolution photos and 1080p video.
• Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS): Reduces shake during movement for smoother footage.
• Multimodal AI: The camera allows the AI to "see" what you see. You can look at a landmark and ask the glasses, "What building is this?"
• Live Streaming: Direct streaming capabilities to social platforms.

The AirGo V2 starts at $299, positioning it as a direct competitor to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

Comparison: AirGo 3 vs. AirGo V2

Choosing between these two depends entirely on whether you need a camera. Here is the breakdown:

When to Stick with Audio-Only Glasses

Camera glasses aren't for everyone. Many workplaces and public spaces ban recording devices. The AirGo 3 remains a strong choice if you work in secure environments or simply want intelligent audio assistance without the bulk of a camera sensor.

Additionally, battery life on audio-only models generally outperforms video models, as processing video drains power quickly. If your priority is all-day translation or notification management, the AirGo 3 is likely the more practical tool.

Alternative Smart Glasses to Consider

The smart glasses market has split into two distinct categories: those that capture the world (cameras) and those that display information (screens/HUDs).

For Video Recording

If the Solos AirGo V2 isn't available yet in your region, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses remain the standard for POV video, offering good stabilization and direct Instagram integration.

For Display and Style

If you want smart features without a camera lens pointing at people, consider display-focused eyewear. Liminal Glasses, for example, offer a distinct aesthetic and feature set that focuses on the user's experience rather than recording others. These are often better suited for users who want heads-up information without navigating the privacy concerns of a camera.
